For journal editors

See fabricated references, citation padding and the right reviewer before publication

Tools enabled on editor accounts check not only whether references are correct but whether they belong in the manuscript, suggest reviewers and flag coercive citation requests in reviewer reports. They connect to OJS through a plugin.

Tools for editors only

Citation pattern

Shows references that are bibliographically correct but do not belong in the manuscript: irrelevant self-citation, references piled on one author or one journal, off-topic sources. It gives no verdict; it shows where to look and when the pattern may be legitimate.

Reviewer Finder

Type the topic or abstract and get candidates who have recently published on it, with ORCID, a sample paper and conflict-of-interest flags (co-authorship, shared institution).

Reviewer report check

Extracts the citation requests in a reviewer report, verifies them and flags requests for the reviewer's own work, a single journal or weakly related sources.

Editor tools tab

Revision comparison (did the author make the requested fixes), a correction letter for the author and a one-page decision summary for desk review are prepared with the report.

Issue report

A summary table of the manuscripts you checked in an issue or period: how many references, how many suspicious, which problems. No manuscript content is stored, only counts.

OJS plugin and browser extension

The OJS 3.3–3.5 plugin puts the check inside the submission workflow; on other systems, right-click the manuscript file with the browser extension. No downloading and re-uploading.

Core tools used on every manuscript

How to get access

  • Reply to our e-mail or use the contact form with the e-mail addresses of your editor-in-chief and associate editors.
  • Their accounts receive 15 days of free Pro access with the editor-only tools enabled.
  • If you run OJS, a journal key is issued separately; the browser extension installs in two minutes.

Manuscripts under review are not stored

Uploaded manuscripts and reference lists are not stored on our servers, never used to train models and never sent to plagiarism databases. The reference verdict relies on open academic database records; the language model runs only on our own servers and your text is never sent to external AI services.
