DOI checker: confirm a DOI exists and points to the right article
Paste one or more DOIs; each is resolved against Crossref/OpenAlex records to show title, authors, journal, year and retraction status. Fabricated DOIs, DOIs that lead to a different article and typos are separated instantly.
DOI checker
Very new DOIs may not resolve until the record is published (24–48 hours).
The three most common DOI errors
Fabricated DOI
Perfect shape (10.1234/abcd.2023.045) but no record anywhere. The most frequent sign in AI-generated references.
DOI of a different article
The DOI is real but resolves to a paper unrelated to the cited title — a copy-paste or reference-manager slip.
One character off
A single shifted digit in the last block kills the DOI. The tool finds the correct DOI from the title/author match and suggests it.

Resolve the DOIs
Paste them in the box above; record details and retraction status appear.
Check the whole bibliography
References without a DOI are searched in the indexes by title, author and year.
Write the entries in your style
Verified records are regenerated in your chosen style with the DOI link.
Check what the citations support
Even a real source may not support the sentence that cites it.
DOI checklist
- Does the DOI start with 10. and resolve on doi.org?
- Is the resolved record's title the same as the cited title?
- Do author order and year match the record?
- Has the article been retracted or corrected?
- Is the DOI written as https://doi.org/ in the bibliography?
What the record says
DOI resolution relies on Crossref and OpenAlex records; no AI is used. Very new DOIs may not resolve until the record is published (usually 24–48 hours); verify those on the publisher's page.
